چکیده
The emerging influenza infections have become a current concern in global public health. Many new emerging infections are reported and the control of these is still not successful. As a new emerging infection, the atypical influenza virus infection usually presents additional clinical manifestations to classical respiratory signs and symptoms. An abnormal platelet count is a common finding in the new emerging atypical influenza infection. Thrombocytopenia is a common finding in H5N1 bird flu,1 H1N1 swine flu2 and H7N9 bird flu.3 At present, the newest emerging influenza infection, H10N8, has just been reported since November 2013. Until present (26 Feb 2014), there are 3 confirmed cases. An interesting query is whether thrombocytopenia is an important finding among the cases with H10N8 influenza. Based on the available data, thrombocytopenia is not observed in the indexed cases.4,5 This finding is very interesting. Since the observation is different from the previous emergent atypical influenza infections, further studies on this specific topic are recommended.

On 30 November 2013, a human H10N8 infection case was first described in China. The origin and genetic diversity of this novel virus is similar to that of H7N9 virus. As H10N8 avian influenza virus (AIV) wa...

متن کاملHuman Infection with Influenza Virus A(H10N8) from Live Poultry Markets, China, 2014
Human infection with avian influenza virus A(H10N8) was initially reported in China in December 2013. We characterized H10N8 strains from a human patient and from poultry in live markets that infected persons had visited. Results of genome sequencing and virus characterization suggest that the virus strains that infected humans originated from these markets.
